Shop Columbus Avenue (67th -82nd Streets) on December 14th for a variety of special, gifts, and goodies from dozens of participating shops and restaurants. Surprises include complimentary wine, hot chocolate, snacks and refreshments, free gift-wrapping, mini-facials, discounted merchandise and dining options during this four hour holiday bash. In addition, there will be live music in some of the shops. Among the participants are Eileen Fisher, Kate Spade, Babette, Book Culture, Couture Kids, KT Collection, Only Hearts, Oska, Peruvian Connection, Troll Beads, BOC NYC, Peruvian Connection, Astro West, Flying Tiger, Scotch & Soda, Joie, Reiss, Anne et Valentin, Housing Works, Farrow & Ball, Corks on Columbus, Wade Maxx, Sensuous Bean, and 67 Wine. Also offering services and specials will be a host of skincare and cosmetic retailers, hair salons and fitness centers, including M Salon, Fresh, Rituals Cosmetics, Rain, Scott J. Aveda Salon, Pure Barre, and European Wax Center. Eateries already signed on for the festivities are Magnolia Bakery, Café Tallulah, Shake Shack, Le Boite en Bois, and Il Violino. ¡Cuba! Show at American Museum of Natural History

This show will take you inside Cuba, with it's arcades, vibrant music, mysterious caves, colorful boulevards, hard challenges and high energy. In this exhibit, you will meet the some of the live creatures below. If you watch this little video HERE, you'll be hooked. The show is on now.

Parliament Espresso & Coffee Bar Now Open at the New-York Historical Society

Now open at the New-York Historical Society: Parliament Espresso & Coffee Bar. Parliament takes coffee-based drinks seriously, sourcing its beans from Nicaragua, Brazil and Sumatra, for rich, dynamic flavors. New-York Historical Society Events & Exhibitions

At the New-York Historical Society through January 8, The Battle of Brooklyn tells the story of the largest single battle of the Revolutionary War, and was fought right here in New York City. The exhibit includes copies of the Declaration of Independence and Thomas Paine's political writings as well as a host of objects from the 1776 battle. Admission to The Battle of Brooklyn is included with regular admission to the New-York Historical Society; learn more about the exhibit and purchase tickets here.

The New-York Historical Society will also host living history programs each weekend through January 8. Historians and reenactors will bring the American Revolution to life. Upcoming living history programs include a visit from the Continental Army Cavalry on Saturday, December 10 and a look inside a Revolutionary War soldier's knapsack on Sunday, December 18. Council Member Rosenthal Hosting a Small Business Clinic Monday January 9 at 9AM

Council Member Rosenthal will hold a small business clinic in early January. The clinic, aimed at restaurant owners and managers, will include a presentation from Small Business Services on pertinent regulations, marketing strategies, and accounting tips. Pro-bono attorneys will also be on hand for business-related legal advice. The clinic is currently scheduled for Monday, January 9 at 9am, location to be determined. NYC Fines Amnesty Program until Dec. 12th

NYC Fines Amnesty Program until Dec. 12th Only one week remains to take advantage of the NYC Department of Finance (DOF) amnesty program. Individuals and businesses may be eligible to have fines issued by the Department of Sanitation, Department of Buildings, and other city agencies forgiven. The DOF amnesty program will come to a close on December 12 of this year, so don't delay. Get more information and search for open violations here.
